It was getting a thorough look at nature that  I realize where thoughts come from. Light and shade and the very many color tonalities created through the sunshine are actually saying that there's no steady form, as there's no steady reality. 




These scenes are the results of wandering about in Guernsey and listening to light and shade dialogues on a dream-like field, I think.

                              




Perhaps the point of war is the utter impossibility of dealing with the beauty that surrounds me;  perhaps if I wouldn't paint I'd wish to destroy what I see as it does deeply touches me.
